Back from Arkansas…

I have no idea what Bobby did, or if she is still, a month later, mad at him… but it seems he ticked someone off right good. They left this little ditty on one of the stone walls above the Lake Ouachita overlook. Made me laugh out loud, so I figured I would share.

Now… about common courtesy and maybe a bit of etiquette regarding camping in a state park. Yes, I am completely aware that the white trash that I am ranting about here probably don’t use the Internet (or, in some cases, read), but I wanted to get this off my chest.

  • If your dog is barking, howling, moving around loudly, or even snoring loud enough to bother fellow campers… do something about it. Move them, put them in the car (it’s nighttime, it’s not too hot), or tell them to shut up.
  • Come to think of it… don’t bring your dog at all. If he’s a barker… double don’t bring him.
  • If you insist on bringing your dog, and your daughter is beating it with a knotted rope, don’t get mad at the DOG when it bites her.
  • If you don’t know how to start a campfire without generating so much smoke that you obscure vision for a half mile radius… bring a freaking propane stove. They are cheap and light.
  • Not so much a rant, but something I just don’t get… If you are going to come in your 40ft. RV, set up a tent for your kids with it’s own window unit air conditioner, complete with a satellite dish for your TV… why did you bother? Really? Wouldn’t it have been more convenient to simply stay home, and set up the tent in your back yard? Wasn’t there a NASCAR event that you could attend somewhere? Especially since the people I am talking about did not have a boat. There was no obvious reason for them to have gone to the lake. They just sat around, and watched TV. I’m surprised they did not bring their own above ground pool.

OK, that was a pretty mild rant, I omitted all the cursing done at the dogs in the middle of the night.

I had a good time. Our campsite was right on the lake. Had a great view. I’ll post pictures soon.
