Winners and Losers

Mike Modano vs. the Dallas Stars

It’s hard to call anyone getting $17.25Mil a loser, but, the Stars clearly won this encounter. Mike looks indecisive, and somewhat spineless. The Stars got their star player for the rest of his career for below market value.

The Texas Rangers vs. Anyone

The post all-star break swoon is a Rangers stereotype for a reason.

Frisco traffic vs. my ass

Frisco traffic wins this one hands down.

My comment spam filter vs. online porn/casinos/drugs

I’m 465-0 over the last 90 days.

Firefox vs. Safari

As of v.1.06, Firefox (with a few choice extensions) surges back into the lead. It’s fast, doesn’t crash, and blocks ads and pop-ups quite nicely. While it’s not terribly attractive, it’s not butt-ugly, either.

Deep content vs. space fillers on my website

Looks like space fillers are doing quite well as of late. Guess I get really good and pissed off about something so I will have something to say.

No, I’m not dead

I have not abandoned the blog, I simply have been very delinquent about writing lately.

I’ve been busy. You see:

  • I got a second dog, Tully
  • I had a minor wreck
  • I got a promotion at work, and have been really busy
  • I have been planning a vacation
  • I live in Frisco, and every road in the entire city is under construction
  • Besides every road to my house being torn up, that damn IKEA is opening
  • And the new soccer stadium is about to open
  • Been dividing up Stars season tickets (have about 5 games left, if you are interested in a few games, please email me)
  • Been doing minor remodeling (light fixtures, tile work, ceiling fans, some carpeting work)
  • Been reading a lot (currently in the middle of the Harry Potter book)
  • I’m sure I’m forgetting about 5 things

So I will try to write again as soon as things cool off.
