Casa Grande, Big Bend National Park, Texas

This little mountain (or hill, if you are from Colorado) is Casa Grande (Big House) Peak in the Big Bend National Park in West Texas. Immediately after this picture was taken, my friends Alan, Bill and Kirsten climbed this with me. Was a blast. We actually found (by pure chance, we weren’t looking) a geocache at the very top. Everything from jewelry, to diaries, to notes to lost loves were in that cache. We wrote something, left something, and then climbed back down.

On a separate note, if anyone can explain to be why I am losing my vivid blues and greens when I export a JPEG from Photoshop, I would love it if you left me a note telling me what I am doing wrong. It’s really noticeable on this shot and the bluebonnet shot below.

UPDATE: Well, as you can see, I got that shot to really pop. Can someone leave a comment to tell me if it looks really vivid on their machine? On my machine I can not only see a very bright blue sky and green foliage, but I can distinctly pick out the yellow lichen growing on the side of the rock. I included a color profile, and while it didn’t change the Photoshop preview, it did seem to change the shot displayed in Safari.
